SCHEDULE FINALIZED

There are some changes for 2006. Due to declining attendance at the Challenge Cup, we have regretfully dropped it from the schedule. We thank the Garrison Commercial Club for their ten years of support. We have replaced the Challenge Cup with the Moose Regatta to be held July 1-2 in Dryden, Ontario. It will be hosted by Brad Woodworth, aka Woody and their local yacht club. We will have more on this event to follow.

The Madeline Island Encounter has also suffered from poor attendance. Since there are those that enjoy the island as much or more than the racing, the event will be less structured and free to explore sailing in areas other than the beach in LaPointe. Long distance and/or course racing, this event should continue to benefit from the island mystique.

THIRTY YEARS!

Fleet 8 celebrates a landmark birthday this year along with the 25th Mille Lacs Crossing. During the year, we hope to reflect on the highlights and give recognition to some of the many who provided the energy and spirit that empowered Fleet 8 to provide one of the top programs in the country. We will also be looking for contributions in the form of pictures and stories from earlier years.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL

Membership in Fleet 8 is still the easiest means of support you can give to our sport of windsurfing. The membership fee for 2006 is $20 or $30 for families. Let’s keep this sport going and growing!
